DJ Pedro Simões
He made his debut in Portimão (where he was born) in 1995. From filming in the multicultural Algarve nights to arriving in Lisbon (1997), there were several spaces where he learned to mix records and manage dance floors with a diverse audience, which gave him great eclecticism. Each set takes you into the realms of improvisation and the unexpected.
Technically, it's exciting to watch him work. No software. Just in touch with the records, the mixing board... and the audience.
In Lisbon, he was a resident at "Metalúrgica", "7 Mares", "Café da Palha", "Cenoura do Rio" and at the mythical "Hard Rock Cafe" (where he stayed for 6 years). Residencies that, in all cases, lasted for years due to the constant loyalty of the public.
He is a frequent guest at various university parties from North to South and at private events that he carefully selects. He travels accompanied by his brand image: the classic hat.
He specialized in a revivalist format, being mostly requested for parties with music focused on the 80s and 90s, although with passages from the previous and later decades. Always danceable, generating smiles and passion.
Musical culture
His inspiration comes from his professional occupation as an announcer and entertainer for the Renascença Group, which includes RFM, RR, Rádio SIM and Mega Hits.

I've played at events with two historical names in eurodance: Snap and Technotronic. They are the first two bands that made me spend my own money on vinyl records. A curiosity that I keep with particular affection.
In 2012 I performed for the first time outside Portugal. I traveled 7000 kilometers to meet 2000 people in Luanda at the "Lookal" discotheque.
Radio work. I've interviewed the Cranberries, Offspring, 3 Doors Down, Creed, Silence4, Pedro Abrunhosa, The Calling, HIM, Crash Test Dummies, Shivaree, Xutos and Pontapés, among many others. I did live streams while practicing extreme sports and managed not to utter a bad word.
The connection between the dance floor and the radio has always existed. In a disco, bar, private event... or at the microphones of the Renascença Group (MEGA FM, Renascença, RFM and Rádio SIM) where I give voice.
It was in Portimão, in Praia da Rocha, that I was entrusted with a cabin for the first time, in 1995. University studies brought me to Lisbon in 1997. Long residencies in spaces such as Hard Rock Cafe, Cenoura do Rio, Café da Palha and 7 Mares allowed me to perfect my technique and get to know the public.
I am requested for danceable parties, generating smiles and passions. Through eclecticism and constant updating, I explore various musical styles such as Disco Sound, Hip Hop, R&B, Soul, Pop Music and House Music. Revivalism then gives way to the modern, selected with criteria.
I don't limit my sets to recent news. All the musical culture I've acquired in recent decades is an asset that I like to use to surprise. I transport it to the dance floor and distinguish myself for it.
I usually travel accompanied by a brand image: the classic hat, which stands out in a cabin that is always busy and accessible. There are those who say that, technically, it is exciting to see me work. No software. Just in contact with the records, the mixing board and the audience.
